Schani undertook his initial dance training at Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Bretton Hall College University. His continued professional development includes training with artists including CandoCo, Blue Eyed Soul, Wolfgang Stange, Jabadao, Freedon in Dance and Anjali, covering areas of practice from movement play, dance on film and use of Soundbeam, to Duty of Care, project management, child protection and mentoring young people. He has also undertaken shadowing opportunites with Louise Katerega, Salamanda Tandem, Louise Collinson, Liz Clarke and Annie Delin.

Schani Cave trained in Dance at Bretton Hall College University, but unfortunately, after a brief career as a dancer, he suffered 2 strokes in January 1999 and thought that he may never be able to dance again.
